Thief? ...uh, Yes!



 Deagan dinner chimes were used for NBC's G-E-C tones until 1939 when they were replaced with an electronic device. When a major event occurred, a "secret" chime, B-D-G-G, was broadcast to summon key personnel. It was first used for the Hindenberg crash in 1937, then such events as the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941 and the D-Day invasion of 1944:
